Like many healthy young people who are at the peak of their careers I love enjoying my earnings on things I can buy like gadgets, spa packages, clothes, out of town trips etc.
Back in the days when my father was still alive I don’t think I need Life Insurance because it has “death” written all over it which gives me the creeps. I always think that I have a long way to go.
I share the same sentiment before, I hate life Insurance and I am not open to the idea of even hearing more about life Insurance. Until my father died and left us with money that made me, my brother, sisters and most especially my mom continued to live a very comfortable lifestyle after receiving the benefits of my dad’s life insurance policy. I realized life insurance is not really for the dead, life insurance is for the living, and life insurance is a gift of love that will continue to be felt even after we're gone.
When we talk about life insurance, I will personally guarantee you that we are not going to talk about death, what we are going to discuss would be LIVING and SAVING.
Life insurance only becomes INSURANCE when someone dies, but the essence of having a life insurance is really a holistic protection for you and your loved ones, a sound preparation for your future and their future.
If you lived too long or when you experienced illness you would want to feel at peace knowing that you have financial support to keep you going. If you would want to make your money grow to beat inflation, or if you would like to prepare for early retirement life insurance is the answer, and the list goes on and on.. Whether you like it or not Life insurance is actually the foundation of a sound financial planning that can make your dreams become a true reality.
Surprisingly, 90% of Filipinos are still not aware about the other benefits of Life insurance. Allow me to tell you that Life insurance today can serve as an income replacement, a wealth accumulation tool (similar to banks but would give you 4%, 10% or more on the financial return). It can also be withdrawn, can be used to pay for your estate tax, or hospital expenses. It can also preserve the wealth you have accumulated so on and so forth…
I always advise my clients to always be prepared. I inspire them to invest first and spend what is left. It really pays to start early because every year that passes you by can really cost you significant amount of money.
If bulk of Filipinos today still believed that saving in the bank is the best way to grow their money, how can the Filipinos beat inflation over the long term? Sadly speaking, many Filipinos would not be able get to their financial goals no matter how much they save. Do you know that the value of 1000 pesos back in 2004 is only 300 pesos today? Do we now realize why we continue to see a lot of senior citizens in the Philippines still depending on their relatives and children to give them money? It’s because no matter how much we save, reality of inflation and sudden sickness will strike us.
To my dear readers, it’s not how much money you save that can make you financially free, but how much time you can manage to make your money grow. It’s Time!
